Multiple reputable jewelers and auction houses from Boston have claimed that this may be a mistake by Tiffany (or it was a custom item for her/employees) and they may have given this item to her (my relative) as a gift or at discount. If you do a quick search on ebay, you can find two Tiffany and Co. pieces that are very much like this (one is sapphire and the same size while the other is ruby but about double the size). Both of these items have a signed Tiffany & Co. gold bar soldered onto the inside of the heart's cavity, while my piece does not. Please check my other listings and you can clearly see that I have many other retro Tiffany and Co. jewelry pieces from her collection. Please see references. Item has been used and worn. No issues with clasp.

Description

14K yellow gold convertible heart pendant/brooch by Tiffany & Company, set with rubies. Measuring approximately 1.5 centimeters by 1.5 centimeters. The heart is slightly domed and the pendant has a collapsible bail and a pin-stem on the back so that it can be converted and worn as both a brooch or as a necklace on a chain.
