    Description

**U.S. bidders please see below for shipping details due to Canada-U.S. border-crossing restrictions.
Fans of early issues of The Hockey News will be intrigued by this infrequently-offered, historically important hockey publication - Volume 1, No. 2, with the 2nd ever issue released with an October 8th, 1947 date.  If you’re like me, you’ll be impressed by the loads of interesting content, with the then-upcoming All-Star Game in Toronto (the first of the annual games) detailed in several tell-tale articles - a wicked trip back in time(!).  Killer to check out are the full scoring summaries of the previous All-Stsr Games; The Ace Bailey Benefit, Babe Siebert Memorial and the Howie Morenz Memorial. …… The approaching regular season is looked at among the articles on the back cover and that’s Toronto’s Gaye Stewart pictured.  One of Montreal’s five rookies was to be Doug Harvey. …..I’ve shown all,of the two-page spreads in the 16-page effort, with a great Page 3 Maple Leafs Garden history lesson featuring a shot of Opening Night!  And now you know(!)(the image that appears on a sometimes-seen postcard……The initial Hockey Hall of Fame (in Kingston, Onatario) and its first 16 inductees have an article devoted to them - nice……and on and on -you’ll get plenty of enjoyment when this scarcity is delivered.  Issue has been folded in the past but has survived without any writing or nasty flaws.
