A real showstopper, this vintage intricately handmade designer turquoise and gemstone sterling silver necklace is sure to capture a lot of attention as well as bring beauty and joy to the wearer. Loaded with silky polished Kingman Turquoise that has subtle Pyrite Inclusions, the cabochons are hand set in sturdy custom sterling silver bezels, with the lavaliere pendant joined to an impressive necklace of flowers and connectors of like clusters of Kingman turquoise and bright blue accent gemstone. Signed BARSE and Sterling 925 Stamped. Condition is excellent pre owned.
Kingman turquoise is one of the best-known and valuable of the North American varieties of turquoise, originating in Arizona. One of the best things about the mine is the variety of colors and inclusions in the turquoise. In this case, the gem turquoise is a beautiful sky blue to dark sky blue and the inclusions are sparkly, silvery flecks of pyrite. This type of Turquoise is highly desirable and collectible.
To the best of my knowledge and experience, I date the composition of this necklace to the 1990s and attribute the turquoise to the Kingman or Morenci Mines, both located in Arizona. Like Kingman, Morenci turquoise is another American classic and a small amount reaches market each year from the stock that was mined previously. Further, the bright blue facetted accent gemstones are blue Topaz.
