RARE Antique 1700's Advertising Cup ❦ Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard's AlmanacA small glazed pottery youth's cup with full-round blue-green decoration and remnants of a crudely applied handle
Appears to have been made c1790, in conjunction with the publication of
Boyle's Moral Pictures; or Poor Richard Illustrated. Being lessons for the young and the old, on industry, temeperence, frugality, & cc. by the late Dr. Benj. Franklin
Features a fantatsic image of a farmer and his sheep surrounded by two of the almanac's notable
phrases: "He that by the Plough would thrive himself must either hold or drive" and
"The eye of a master will do more work than both his hands"
A RARE relic of American publishing history
In antiquarian "surviver" condition - crazing, hairlines, staining and the aforementioned "handles"
