RARE 1870-1880’s US Express Co. Messenger Hat Badge

Description

Up for bids is a RARE Circa 1870-1880’s messenger hat badge for the United States Express Company.
The badge is brass and reads United States Express Company and is numbered with silver-tone letters 3526. The badge shows a winged chest in a horseshoe and is curved to fit the front of the hat. There are 2 attachment holes, one has a pin.
The pin measures approximately 2-3/16” in height and 4-3/4” in width. It is in good condition.
