This is an Order Of The Arrow, OA, patch. The Order Of The Arrow, OA, is the Honor Camping Society OfThe Boy Scouts Of America, BSA, B.S.A., and this item was produced to be worn on the Scouting Uniform.
The Order Of The Arrow, OA, was Originally known as the Wimachtendienk, and was formed into Lodges
by Name and Number and Originally Met Nationally at Grand Meetings what we now Call NOACs

- Buffalo Trace Council # 156, (1955 - Active ) Evansville, Indiana, IN, Home Of Order Of The Arrow,
OA Lodge 422 Kiondaga, Which Chartered In 1949, With The Oak Leaf, and Acorn As The Lodge
Totem. Buffalo Trace Council Then Merged with Southern Indiana Council. In 1955, Acorn Lodge 422,
Changed It's Name To 422 Kiondaga. In 1953 The Camps Serving The Buffalo Trace Council Would
Have included: Camp Pohoka, Camp Carnes, Arthur Scout Reservation,Camp Arthur, Old Ben Scout
Reservation, and Buffalo Trace Scout Reservation.
- In 1955 Buffalo Trace Council/OA Lodge 422 Kiondaga absorbed part of Ambraw Wabash Council in
Mt Vernon,IL/ OA Lodge 167 Woapink.

Which Chartered In 1939, With The Opossum As The Lodge Totem. The Camp that served this Lodge and
Council was: Camp AM - Wa - Co,
- Lincoln Trails Council # 121, ( 1939 - 2019 ) Decatur, Illinois,IL. This council was Decatur Council # 121,
Then renamed Acis council in 1926 ,Then renamed Decatur Area Council in 1929. Then renamed Lincoln
Trails Council # 121. Home of the NEW OA Lodge 167 Woapink, Which Was Chartered In 1957 With The
Opossum As The Lodge Totem. Camps serving this council- Camp Robert Faries 1939- present , Camp
Podesta Big Timber 1953-1986 , and Rhodes France Scout Reservation. This Council Merged Into The
Greater St. Louis Area Council In 2019, and Lodge Still Remains Independent At This Time.

MOUNT PROSPECT, PENNSYLVANIA. HE STARTED HIS SCOUTING CAREER IN THE WESTMORELAND
-FAYETTE COUNCIL, AS A SCOUT IN TROOP 5, SPONSORED BY ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST, R. C. CHURCH.
HE WAS A MEMBER OF OA LODGE 6 WAGION. AS A YOUTH, ATTENDED THE 1955 8TH WORLD JAMBOREE
AT NIAGARA ON THE LAKE IN ONTARIO CANADA, AND WAS ON STAFF AT
CAMP CONESTOGA. HE EARNED
HIS EAGLE SCOUT, AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCH RELIGIOUS
AWARD AD ALTARE DEI. UPON COMPLETTING
HIS PhD IN 1970, HE ACCEPTED A POSITION AT UNIVERSITY OF WEST VIGINIA, AND BECAME ACTIVE IN THE
MOUNTAINEER AREA COUNCIL.HE WAS A VIGIL HONOR MEMBER OF LODGE 550 MENAWNGIHELLA, AND
SERVED AS THE LODGE ADVISIOR, AND CENTURY CLUB MEMBER. HE WAS ON THE EXECUTIVE BOARD FOR
THE MOUNTAINEER AREA COUNCIL, AND WAS AWARDED THE SILVER BEAVER IN 1978. JOE THEN CONTINUED
HIS SCOUTING CAREER IN
THE NORTHERN NEW JERSEY COUNCIL, AND
OA LODGE 9
LENAPEHOKING. AFTER
ACCEPTING A POSITION AT SEATON HALL U, HE HELPED OBTAIN A CHARTER FOR VENTURE CREW # 1856 AT
SETON HALL UNIVERSITY.
JOE REALLY ENJOYED SCOUTING, AND THE FRIENDSHIPS HE MADE TRADING AND
COLLECTING PATCHES,
WAS A PASSION HE HELD THROUGH HIS ENTIRE LIFETIME. HE SERVED AS THE EDITOR
FOR THE TRADER
PATCH TRADING MAGAZINE AND HELPED PROMOTE PATCH COLLECTING AS A HOBBY. JOE HAD
THE
BEST ORDER OF THE ARROW CHENILLE COLLECTION IN THE COUNTRY AS WELL AS AN OUTSTANDING OA NAME/
NUMBER COLLECTION, AND LODGE PATCH WITH MISSPELLINGS,
OR THE WRONG NUMBER COLLECTION
