    What is Linux?
Linux is an operating system that came out in the 1990s that focuses on efficiency, security, and speed. It is very popular with computer programmers but never gained mainstream popularity due to Windows and MacOS being more user-friendly. It is also open source, which means it is not owned by a big company like Apple or Microsoft, and users can modify the OS any way they see fit.
Linux famously has a very well-documented and pronounced command line interface (CLI), which not only allows you to do almost anything with just a few words, but the CLI also provides a text editor, text parsers, tools to compress files, and an extremely simple way to download programs.

    What is MX Linux?
MX Linux is a GNU/Linux distribution based on Debian. MX is a cooperative venture between the antiX and former MEPIS communities, using the best tools and talents from each distro. It is a midweight OS designed to combine an elegant and efficient desktop with simple configuration, high stability, solid performance and medium-sized footprint. It uses Xfce as its desktop environment on top of a Debian Stable base with SysVinit.
    What is a LIVE USB?
On most computers, the operating system is stored on the computer's hard drive. A live USB contains an operating system burned onto it, and so you can tell your computer to boot from the USB instead of the hard drive. The beauty of a live USB is that you can use it without actually having to install anything. Your computer and your data is completely untouched when using a live USB.
Most Linux distributions give you the option to install the operating system on your hard drive if you'd like to, but it is not necessary. If you do want to install it, you can install it next to an operating system already on the computer or instead of the operating system already on your computer. The latter option will
    permanently
delete all the data on the hard drive, so make sure you know what you're doing.
Keep in mind that unless you install the OS, the USB will boot into a "brand new" OS each time and none of your updates or settings will be saved. You can save files as long as you make sure to save it on a separate DVD or external drive.
This is another use for live USBs: security. A live USB is a good option when you are using someone else's computer and you don't want to leave a trace.
