    Description

Please note: This Buy It Now is for FOUR glasses.
During the 1987 and 1988 summers, the LIRR ran a wine bar on the
    Montauk Light
, the Friday only express from Hunterspoint Avenue to Montauk and on its Sunday counterpart,
    The Cannonball
. This parlor car offered 16 fine wines and complimentary gourmet snacks in this 42 seat car, served from four modern state-of-the-art cruvinets, tap dispensing units that replaced drawn wine with nitrogen to preserve it. The car was a phenomenal success but disappeared in the 1989 season when the LIRR eliminated parlor car attendants.
This is a genuine Libby wine glass with the LIRR’s corporate seal etched (not screened) on the glass. (The original source of the logo was the LIRR’s 1910 Penn Station opening booklet, a booklet where the corporate seal was applied in gold leaf to the booklet).
Each glass measures 6½” high with a 2½” base and holds six ounces. Two views of the glass are shown along with a partial view of the car’s interior setup.
