HARLAN & HOLLINGSWORTH CO 1890s RAILROAD PASSENGER COACH BUILDER'S PLATE
This is a builder’s plate from the Harlan & Hollingsworth Company. It most likely came off a railway passenger coach built by the company in the late 1800s. Harlan & Hollingsworth was formed in 1866 and was active in the construction of standard and narrow gauge railroad passenger cars in the 1880s and 1890s. The firm was acquired by Bethlehem Steel Corporation in 1904. The brass plate is 12” long and is in excellent condition. It has a casting number stamped on the back. Rare builder’s plate.
