    Ethel Leginska (born Ethel Liggins) was a British pianist of great distinction (a student of the
    legendary Theodor Leschetizky). She was also a composer and pioneering conductor, who
    broke down gender barriers around the world - the first woman to conduct opera in America,
    the first woman to conduct at the Hollywood Bowl.
