    (1954-1955), Corrected edition, 1967, Study Score, Associated Music Publishers, New York, paperback, about 9 by 11 3/4 inches, 152 pages, in very good condition.  Elliott Carter has inscribed and signed the front cover to David Johnson on March 12, 1988.
    Elliott Carter (1908-2012) was one of the most important American modernist composers in the classical tradition in the 20th century.  He won many awards and prizes including two Pulitzer Prizes.  Variations for Orchestra is one of his most famous and best known of his compositions.
