    One-page handwritten letter dated December 15, 1943, from Arthur Fiedler to Mr. Appleton, thanking him for his assistance in procuring a bass "for Portsmouth" and sending holiday greetings. In a post script, he says that the bassist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra may be interested in purchasing a base from Appleton.
